Blana de oaie islandeză, așa cum îi spune și numele, provine din Islanda. Aceasta provine dintr-o rasă descendentă din oile norvegiene cu coadă scurtă, pe care vikingii le-au adus în Islanda între anii 1100 și 1200. Aceste oi sunt de obicei de dimensiuni medii spre mari, cu picioare scurte și spate lat.

Blana de oaie islandeză este extrem de rezistentă la frig, fiind esențială pentru islandezi în timpul iernilor lungi și aspre. Calitatea blănii este superioară, fiind rezistentă, impermeabilă și lucioasă. Ask a question

Sometimes a little, and only at first. It's the natural smell of wool. Hang the sheepskin in a well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, and the smell will disappear within a few days.

Hardly at all. A few loose fibres may come off in the first days – that's normal, and a quick brush will remove them easily.

Most sheepskins don't need any special cleaning. Just give it a shake now and then and brush it with a wool brush to keep the wool fluffy and soft.

For stains, clean only the wool with a small amount of wool shampoo and a damp cloth. Keep the leather dry and dry the sheepskin lying flat, away from heat. We don't recommend machine washing, not even for medical sheepskins. Water soaked into the leather can make it stiff.

Of course. Pets love sheepskins. Shorter wool is the easiest to keep clean under little paws.
